Temple city, Bhubaneswar: An unauthorized slum is offing on government land in Bhubaneswar, All credits goes to two government agencies: GA (general administration department) and Idco (Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation) so thanks them for their indurate attitude.
In between Maitre Vihar unauthorized thatched flats have started to build on nearly two acre land which is belonging to GA department is known as one of the land controller of government in Bhubaneswar. The plot is located very near of Fortune Tower, several corporate companies also there, and Salia Sahi, the largest slum area in Bhubaneswar, capital of Odisha.
According to TOI, Estates director asked Idco to take fastest steps for construction of boundary around the land which is in Bharatpur mouza on 30th June 2010 through a letter. Then Idco responded to this letter on 28th August, 2010 and asked for to first clear the encroachment. According to that letter “Necessary steps may please be taken at your end for Convincement. Local police of CHandrasekharpur should be alert for proper protection to avoid litigation during construction of boundary wall”.
But problem is that no steps have been taken either to clean encroachment or for build up parts. When question arises an Idco officer said “we will start the construction as soon as possible with the help of police’’.
Our government is very callous regarding this matter. Once slum comes it will help to raise anti-social activities. We brought this matter to GA and Idco many times for solution but conclusion is “no avail”.
